At the end of a long week of working hard, we like to relax and have a few laughs.
For a bit of fun, last week we held The Great Paper Plane Competition to see who could make a piece of folded paper travel the furthest through the office.
What started out as a bit of fun soon became a very serious event. I guess you could say we’re a little competitive! The rules stated we could make two planes and have a total of 5 goes. All planes needed to use the official ‘plane paper’ and come from the specially purchased paper plane design book.
Fierce rivalries appeared as we carefully folded, with heckling and accusations of cheating running rife. (editor’s note: having someone else make your plane is cheating, and I’ll not hear another word about it.)
After what can only be described as a thrilling display of paper-based aerospace engineering genius, we had our winners. Sam, Charlie and Georgia came 1st, 2nd and 3rd and took the enviable prizes home (1st prize: 2 tickets to movies; 2nd prize: Giant box of celebrations chocolates; 3rd prize: Block of chocolate and wild applause). Congrats!
The rest of us are getting ready to take the Friday Winners title in this week’s challenge: The Super Charades Championship.
